Brown Marmorated Stink Bug (BMSB) Update

Add a subheading (4)

The Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment (DAWE) has just announced that China has been added to the BMSB emerging risk country list for the remainder of the 2021-22 BMSB season as a result of detections of live BMSB in some containerised commodities.

Consequently, increased random inspection activities will apply to certain goods manufactured in, or shipped from China in FCL/FCX containers. LCL/FAK and break bulk goods are out of scope for increased inspection intervention.

Increased inspection activities will apply to goods falling under tariff chapters 39, 68, 69, 70, 73, 84, 85 and 89 only.
