November News Brief

Welcome to this edition of the
FJT News Brief

This month, we look to Bangkok, where Lorenzo Checcacci, General Manager – Operations, and Giuseppe Civiletti, Project & Business Development Manager (Italy) attended the Panco Freight Camp on behalf of FJT Logistics

Building Stronger Global Connections

The event brought together freight forwarders from around the world and gave our team the chance to reconnect with existing partners while forming new relationships. Giuseppe shared that the trip was a great opportunity to learn more about different markets, understand the challenges our partners face, and explore how we can work better together.

With more DAP shipments moving out of Italy, these conversations were timely. Lorenzo and Giuseppe met with several overseas forwarders who can support our cargo flows, while FJT continues to offer strong local capability for shipments moving into Italy. These kinds of partnerships help us improve route coverage and provide smoother, more reliable service for our customers.

The conference was built around focused conversations, company introductions, one-on-one meetings, and open networking sessions, all designed to help participants connect in a genuine way. Rather than quick exchanges, the structure encouraged real discussions about trade lanes, opportunities and future cooperation.

Giuseppe noted that staying in touch after these events is just as important as the trip itself. Regular follow-ups, clear communication and consistency in who attends help build trust and turn new contacts into long-term partnerships.

FJT’s presence in Bangkok reflects our ongoing effort to stay connected globally and ensure our customers benefit from a strong, dependable international network.

Regards,

Giuseppe Civiletti
Project & Business Development Manager (Italy)

Landside and Terminal Access Charges Update Effective 1 January 2026

Terminal Access Charges and ancillary fees across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, and Perth are set to increase, mostly 5–15%, with DP World Fremantle exceeding 45%. While 60-day notices comply with National Voluntary Guidelines, the rises underscore gaps in protection for Australian exporters and importers.

Victoria International Container Terminal (VICT) will revise its landside pricing to recover rising costs from landside operations, property, and infrastructure, addressing inflation and higher labour expenses, while maintaining efficiency and service reliability.

DP World Australia will implement changes across Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, and Fremantle, including stack run fees and updated Carrier Access T&Cs. Increases reflect rising operational costs and planned $900M capex (2025–2028) for equipment, civil works, pavement, and IT upgrades to improve landside productivity and service levels.

Flinders Adelaide Container Terminal (FACT) will also revise landside charges following its annual review, supporting rising operational costs and capital investments in gate systems, operating systems, civil works, and automated cranes, ensuring efficient and sustainable service for South Australia’s supply chain.
