The Hon David Littleproud MP, Minister for Agriculture, Drought and Emergency Management responds to industry concerns in a media release.

Minister Littleproud acknowledges the delays in biosecurity assessments and inspections from his department.

Minister Littleproud stated that the Department is making all efforts to reduce the impact to the industry while still managing all biosecurity issues effectively.

Australia’s biosecurity cannot be compromised to achieve better delivery results, however, the Department is looking at ways to enhance operations to improve on delivery.

While the concerns regarding the delays have been addressed, it seems that we are still a while away from seeing these changes while we wait for the Department to make system and process improvements.

We hope these changes are implemented sooner, rather than later.
