SYDNEY Strengthening Service Capabilities (1)

Sydney Expansion Enhances Flexibility and Reliability

Dear Friends,

We’re pleased to announce our additional warehouse space in Sydney, located in the industrial hub of Chester Hill. This is our second facility in the area, currently operating under a temporary agreement, and we look forward to establishing it as a definitive new NSW branch office and warehouse, totalling 5,637 sqm.

With this additional space, we are now well-positioned in NSW to support both our existing and new customers with approximately 8,500 sqm of warehouse capacity.

The recent growth of some of our customers prompted the expansion of our facilities in Sydney. This follows our recent expansion in Brisbane and further strengthens our presence across the country.

As our customers grow, we grow with them, expanding our warehouse footprint to meet their evolving needs. The increased demand for space reflects their strong performance and ongoing progress and highlights the trust they place in us to support their logistics today and as they continue to build and grow in the future.

With this additional capacity, bringing our total warehouse and office space to nearly 20,000 sqm across Perth, Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Adelaide, we’re even better positioned to keep your cargo moving and your supply chain resilient and competitive, even in a challenging global market.

Here’s what this means for our customers:

  • Faster, more flexible service: Increased warehouse space allows us to handle higher volumes and respond quickly to changing demands.
  • Enhanced reliability: Greater capacity ensures your goods are securely stored and managed, keeping your supply chain smooth and dependable.
  • Proximity to key transport links: Port Botany, Sydney Airport, and the future Western Sydney Airport for improved turnaround times

Thank you for your continued trust in FJT Logistics, we’re proud to support you in global trade.

Regards,

FJT Logistics

CUSTOMS NOTICE

ABF Response to Industry Concerns – Piggybacking

The Australian Border Force (ABF) has issued a formal response to industry concerns around the misuse of importer identities in the import reporting system.

Piggybacking, where an entity lodges declarations under another importer’s identity without authorisation, creates compliance and financial risks for both importers and customs brokers.

Summary of the key points from ABF’s response.

Digital Identity & Payment Arrangements

Industry raised concerns that current system limitations may enable misuse of importer identities.

The FTA proposed restricting customs brokers from making EFT payments on behalf of importers, suggesting importers provide banking details directly to the ABF.

The ABF noted such changes would have significant policy and trade implications, with digital identity controls and payment processes currently under review as part of broader system reforms.

Border Watch Program

FTA highlighted the Border Watch program as a key channel for reporting suspected piggybacking.

ABF confirmed it remains centrally managed with a 24/7 hotline, with reports prioritised for investigation and ongoing improvements to usability and industry engagement.

Guidance for Affected Importers

Concerns were raised that legitimate importers, especially non-Australian Trusted Trader participants, may unknowingly be victimised by piggybacking.

ABF acknowledged the lack of a clear mechanism for demonstrating non-involvement and is working with partner agencies to develop guidance.

What this means for our customers

While no immediate procedural changes have been introduced, FJT continues to support our customers through strong internal controls when lodging import declarations, particularly in:

• Verifying importer identities to protect your business and ensure compliance
• Managing authorisation to act on your behalf for a seamless process
• Maintaining accuracy of ABNs and declaration details to reduce risk and avoid delays
