With fears of the detrimental impact it would have on our agricultural sector, vigilance is essential in order to keep Australia free of BMSB.
Planning is essential to avoid lengthy onshore clearance delays and associated unnecessary costs. In preparation, we encourage you to review the new BMSB measures and start discussions with suppliers to ensure they have a thorough understanding of the requirements, and establish commercial arrangements in advance to ensure your goods meet all seasonal compliance requirements. All non-compliant cargo will be at risk of being destroyed and/or re-exported if onshore treatment is not permitted.
As a full suite provider of freight forwarding and warehousing services, FJT Logistics can help with so much more than organising your shipment. We are an accredited BMSB treatment provider at our Melbourne and Brisbane facilities. This accreditation is an exclusive benefit for all FJT customers that will extend to our new facilities opening soon in Adelaide and Perth in the coming months.
Further information regarding the BMSB seasonal measures can be found in our newsletter and FAQ’s dated 11 August 2022, including tips on how you can reduce your risk.
Thank you for your continuous support.
