$14.5M Investment in Biosecurity Measures

The Hon. David Litteproud MP, Minister for Agriculture, Drought and Emergency Management has announced that there will be a $14.5 million investment over 18 months in new measures at Australian borders.

The Australian grain and horticulture industry will be better protected from the threat of khapra beetle following a $14.5 million investment to strengthen biosecurity measures.

Australia can no longer close it’s borders and these increased biosecurity measures with diagnostic technology and capability, as well as targeted surveillance efforts and mandatory treatment of containers will keep Australia’s $61 Billion agricultural sector moving forward.
